Purchased a Nintendo Wii U Pro Controller. The controller was sold cheap because it was filthy dirty and covered in what appeared to actually be dirt. Sometimes I get so focused on working on this stuff that I forget to take a before picture, which is exactly what happen this time.

Disassembled the controller. Separated the electronics from the plastic shell/buttons. I washed the plastic parts with soap and water. They are looking much better now! I am going to allow them to air dry over night, so I will reassemble and test tomorrow. I did test the battery and it appears to still be good, which is amazing considering its like 10 years old now. Although for some reason the batteries used in the Wii U and 3DS era of consoles/peripherals tend to last much longer than the ones they have today.

The controller cleaned up nicely and looks pretty decent. Unfortunately these controllers also use the shiny, highly susceptible to scratches/scuff plastic that Nintendo chose to use on the Wii U consoles. So the wear and tear from years of use definitely shows. That being said I tested the controller and its fully functional.

The battery even appears to hold a charge, albeit I only played a game for an hour to test it. I played some Wind Waker HD and tested for joystick drift and there isn't any  ;D

Its absolutely amazing that the original battery in this controller is still good. I plugged it in and fully charged it and have been playing Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker HD for 6+ hours and it still shows it has a full charge. I will test this over the next couple of day to make sure but if this battery still gets 20+ hours of battery life I will be impressed. It originally could do 80+ hours and was hailed as one of the best controllers when it came to battery life.

Small update on the controller and battery life. I have been playing Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker HD and the controller has held a battery charge for 40+ hours. It is absolutely amazing considering the age of the battery.  ;D  ;D  ;D
