Came across a Wii U Gamepad that has a bad touch screen. The seller said that as far as he knew the Gamepad worked, it was just the touch screen that stopped working. I decided to grab it, since a touch screen replacement isn't that difficult to do and it relatively inexpensive.
Here are some pictures of the gamepad.

The housing is in decent shape, many of these Gamepads have lots of scratches/scuffs. The touch screen itself is in horrible condition. The picture makes it look like there is just dirt on it, but after wiping it down with some IPA I realized it was scratches/scuffs on the touch screen. It also has a strange discoloration so perhaps this was left in the sun for a long period of time. There is no indication of a liquid spill, so I know the discoloration wasn't caused from that.
The Gamepad does power on, but without the touch screen there is no way to pair it with a Wii U console for further testing.

I did replace the touch screen on the gamepad and I decided to turn it into a video tutorial on how to replace the touch screen in a Wii U Gamepad.
I have tested the gamepad and it is fully functional. The only issue it had was in fact the touch screen. I cleaned it up some and it looks much better now.
