Title: Wii U Toshiba 2015 Parental Lock
Post by: tzirf on Feb 28, 2024, 09:37 PM
Another Wii U. Found this one at a Garage sale. I was told that the console would power on but there was no way to get past the logo screen. As it turns out this console just has a parental lock on it. A bit of a disappointment as I was hoping for more of a challenge. In hindsight I should have known based on the seller saying "no way to get past the logo screen".

That being said here is the system info. This console is a Toshiba 2015 model. So I have my doubts about there being anything wrong with it aside from the Parental lock.

As always, I have attached the log files to this post. Based on what I saw in them there is no indication there is anything wrong with the eMMC. Additionally I checked the MLC and found no errors.

I will be removing the parental lock, updating the firmware and then doing a factory reset. I will post back the results.

As I expected. This console has no issues. Its only problem was the parental lock, which has been removed. Firmware upgraded successfully and factory reset went without a hitch. This particular console is a Mario Kart 8 Bundle console. Mario Kart 8 remains on the console even after a factory reset. This one is ready for a new home.
